Mechanic denied bail on armed robbery, discharging firearm charges

A young mechanic who is facing two counts of armed robbery and two counts of discharging a loaded firearm was yesterday denied bail after two different addresses were provided to a court on his behalf.

Troy Rodrigues, 20, was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, who remanded him after reading four charges to him.

It is alleged that on May 13, at Campbell Street, Albouystown, while in the company of another and armed with a gun, he robbed Eion Small of a Honda XR motorcycle CK 7464, valued $445,000, a silver chain valued $35,000, and an LG cellphone valued $100,000.  The second charge against him states that on the same date and at the same location, while in the company of another and while being armed with a gun, he robbed Manisha Tappin of $800 cash.
