Oil and Gas Governance Network continues NY picketing for renegotiation of oil contracts

Members of the Oil and Gas Governance Network on Friday continued their petition drive and picketing campaign in New York for the renegotiation of Guyana’s oil contracts with oil companies. In a statement, the OGGN said its members were out on Friday afternoon at the Little Guyana Square in Queens, New York, conducting their weekly “Hold the Banner and Leafletting Campaign.” It said flyers educating persons on the unfairness of the oil contract were passed out to those who passed by. It noted that several accused both the PPP/C and APNU+AFC governments, of “selling out” Guyana to the oil companies, and many were happy to sign the petition calling on the Government of Guyana to renegotiate.
