Boat pilots blame each other for Mazaruni River collision that killed 10

The two captains of the boats which crashed in the Mazaruni River back in 2013 claiming the lives of 10 persons, blamed each other for the collision when they led their respective defences yesterday.

Overruling no-case submissions which were made by their attorneys, Justice Simone Morris-Ramlall informed Cabesh Persaud and Devon Thomas that the Court found sufficient evidence requiring them to mount defences.

In their addresses to the High Court at Suddie, Essequibo where they have been indicted on charges of manslaughter, each blamed the other for the collision.
