Boy, 6, drowns in mining camp reservoir

A six-year-old drowned on Wednesday at Tiger Creek Backdam, in Region Eight.

Dwayne Jacobis, called ‘Junior,’ who was a resident of 118 A Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden, was in the care of his grandmother when he drowned sometime between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm on Wednesday.

According to the police, the grandmother, employed as a cook with Adrian John Mining Operation, was preparing lunch for the workers when she realised that the child was missing.
