Melody drops ‘Better’ in dancehall genre

Amelia Thomas

Reggae/R&B singer/songwriter Amelia Thomas who goes by stage name ‘Melody’ has been exploring other genres of music and dropped a Dancehall single dubbed “Better” on August 1.

The song speaks of someone who is just realizing they’re not in the right relationship and could do better.

Melody penned the song after she was contacted by the production company GT Youths which is based both here and in the US and run by Guyanese. The company has created a new rhythm called ‘The Cold World Rhythm’ and wanted various Guyanese artistes to record songs on it. Melody is the only woman on this project, which also sees the involvement of another local recording studio, Code R3d, from Linden.
