President Irfaan Ali (at left) yesterday presented outgoing CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassa-dor Irwin LaRocque with a sculpture by renowned local artist Winslow Craig as a gift of appreciation on behalf of the people of Guyana for his decade-long leadership at the helm of CARICOM. The Office of the President (OP) said the assorted wooden sculpture of Silverballi and Saman, representing Guyana and the other member states, was specifically crafted for the Secretary-General. “This piece is entitled Strength and Wisdom. It is my pleasure on behalf of the people of Guyana to hand over this piece to you,” Ali was quoted as telling LaRocque. (OP photo)
