A Guyana Police Force Corporal was on Friday remanded to prison on three charges of engaging in corrupt transactions, after allegedly collecting money with the promise of making arrangements to have a prisoner released.
The accused, Omale Damon, was arrested after a sting operation was carried out by police.
The man appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in George-town, where the charges were read to him.
