Rain further delays GCA restart

Chairman of the GCA competitions committee, Shaun Massiah.

The Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) was recently forced to delay the restart of its cricket season due to rain.

Originally, cricket was expected to return to the capital city last weekend with an under-17 tournament leading the way. However, according to chairman of the Competitions Committee, Shaun Massiah, “The rains are still with us and as such grounds are affected and cannot be cut…”

Massiah added that nevertheless the next tentative date to resume will be August 28 or September 1, depending on the weather.
