Soldier dies after Hauraruni accident

A soldier died yesterday after he lost control of his car in the vicinity of Hauraruni, Soesdyke-Linden Highway. 

The deceased was identified as Wilmot Warde, 26, of Lot 1608 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden. 

The police, in a statement, revealed that Warde was proceeding north along the western side of Hauraruni Public Road, in his car, PLL 6077, and was allegedly speeding at the time.

The report added that he lost control of the car and ended up on the western parapet, causing him to fall onto the driveway of Scotty Creek. He suffered injuries as a result. 

He was picked up by public-spirited citizens in a semi-conscious condition and was escorted to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where he later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
