Over 1,000 persons countrywide have benefited from the free distribution of spectacles from the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security with over 130 persons receiving in Region Two this week.
Minister Dr. Vindhya Persaud visited Region 2 on Wednesday where she made the donation; the event was held at the Anna Regina State House and at Charity. Dr. Persaud said her visit to Region Two will continue what the Ministry started on a previous visit where free eye tests were conducted.
This visit she said was to distribute spectacles and hampers and served as a follow-up. Dr. Persaud said it is part of a programme that the Ministry recently launched geared at supporting and helping vulnerable persons.
