Around 20 foreign service officers (FSOs) are being recalled from their posts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Sources told Stabroek News that a number of them have been at their missions in excess of a normal term and some have signalled that they want to return.
The officers in question have been issued with letters from Permanent Secretary Elisabeth Harper with various dates inscribed for their return to Georgetown.
The changes pertain to a number of missions including Ottawa, London, Geneva, New Delhi, Nickerie, Brasilia, Washington, New York, Beijing and Caracas.
The changes relate mainly to FSOs II and III.
