Sangodele Mentore, the driver involved in the accident which claimed the life of Dhaniram Harilall, three weeks after he was struck down on the Rail-way Embankment at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara, was yesterday charged with causing his death.
Mentore appeared before Magistrate Alisha George at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court where the charge was read to him.
He was not required to plead to the charge and was placed on $400,000 bail for the offence, with the conditions that he lodge his passport and report to the Turkeyen Police Station on the 15th of every month.
