Arrest warrant issued for larceny accused whose family agreed to fix victim’s laptop

The Chief Magistrate yesterday issued an arrest warrant for Dominique Butts, a larceny accused whose family had agreed to a settlement with his accuser, after he failed to show up for a scheduled hearing.

Butts, 20, was released on $50,000 bail after he assured a city court that he would fix an alleged stolen laptop and return it to the owner. However, Butts was absent when the matter was called at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who had previously granted him bail, ordered that an arrest warrant be issued for the man.
