Asia United were crowned champions of the Nation’s Capital T20 Cup

A cameo with the bat followed up with an inspiring bowling effort from national all-rounder, Christopher Barnwell led Asia United to the Nation’s Capital T20 title after beating Samp Army by 53 runs Sunday.

In the final, Asia United posted 185 for five from their full quota after winning the toss and batting. In reply, Samp Army could only manage 133 for nine by the time their overs ended.

Asia’s innings was led by former India under-19s, Smit Patel who top scored with 72 from 48 balls. The 28-year-old right-hander, who played for the Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League earlier this year, struck seven fours and three sixes.
