The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) yesterday recognized children of uniformed and civilian personnel, with certificates and monetary awards for their outstanding performances at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) Examinations.
A release from the GDF said that those who succeed at the CSEC Examination receive the Chief of Staff Award for Academic Excellence and the NGSA students receive bursaries. This year the Force awarded a total of 32 children whose parents work at various units across the Force at different levels.
Chief of Staff, Brigadier Godfrey Bess, Colonel General Staff, Colonel Julius Skeete and other Senior Officers presented the awards.
