Man charged with manslaughter after Pepper Hill knife fight

A man was on Monday remanded after being charged with manslaughter following the death of a Mocha, East Bank man who was involved in a knife fight with him.

Marlon Clarke was taken before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Diamond/Grove Magis-trate’s Court where he was not required to plead to the manslaughter charge. He was remanded until January 3.

According a Police report, the man was stabbed after an argument over an old grievance ended in a knife fight on November 4 at Pepper Hill, Mocha, East Bank Demerara. The dead man has been identified as Paul Braithwaite, of Lot 6 Barnwell North, Mocha. The police said that the stabbing occurred around 23.30 hrs.
