Essequibo teen fell from 60 ft at worksite – co-worker

Amar Dindyal, the 16-year-old labourer who died after a work site accident at Vilvoorden, Essequibo Coast on Saturday, fell an estimated 60 feet, according to one of his co-workers.

Dindyal suffered fatal injuries after he fell from a steel structure at a private rice mill. He was employed by a private contractor to work on a steel bond for the rice miller.

Stabroek News has been told that work has since ceased on the premises and workers are afraid to go back to work on the bond.
