No bail for youths accused of gold chains robbery

A labourer and a fisherman were on Wednesday denied bail after being charged with stealing jewellery amounting to $351,000.

Tyron Wilson, 18, a fisherman of Lot 740 Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, and O-Keeffe Wilson, 22, a labourer of Lot 40 Cross Street, McDoom, Georgetown, were arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts where Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan read the joint charge to them.

It is alleged that on December 4, at McDoom, Georgetown, while in the company of others and while being armed with a gun, they stole two gold chains, valued $351,000, which were the property of Derrick Bennett.
