First Lady, Arya Ali (fifth from right) partnered with the Give Another Chance Foundation on Saturday to distribute toys to 500 children from the Essequibo River island of Wakenaam and light a 12-feet Christmas tree.
The visit on Saturday marked Mrs Ali’s second appearance on the island since becoming First Lady. She had visited earlier in the year to distribute hampers to roughly 100 senior citizens, a release from her office said.
The programme began with Mrs Ali and a group of children decorating the Christmas tree with ‘One Guyana’ ornaments.
