Police women lift inaugural Super-16 title

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) was crowned the inaugural champion of the Guyana National Women Football Association (GNWFA) Super-16 Festival, defeating GT Panthers by a 4-2 score-line on Sunday evening at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.

GT Panthers took the initial lead in the contest, as Annalisa Vincent found the back of the net in the sixth minute. The aforesaid advantage proved to be short-lived as Dennecia Prince netted in the 15th minute to level proceedings.

Prince made her presence felt once more in the 19th minute to push the officers into the lead at 2-1. However, GT Panthers responded in equal measure in the form of Feona Benjamin in the 21st minute.
