Albouystown man fined on noise nuisance charge

An Albouystown resident was on Friday fined $20,000 after he admitted to a noise nuisance charge.

Adam Blair, of Albouystown, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where Senior Magistrate Leron Daly read the charge to him. He pleaded guilty to the charge that on October 28, 2021, at James and Garnett streets, Albouystown, he made loud and continuous noise to the annoyance of Karen Steven.

The police prosecutor told the court that according to the facts, the man was playing music loudly in the area. He was asked to lower the volume of the music several times but he did not. As a result the woman went to the Ruimveldt Police Station and made a report. The police attended the location and arrested Blair. The stereo system was lodged at the police station.

He was fined $20,000, or in default, one week’s imprisonment for the offence.
