A taxi-driver has been sentenced to six years in jail after he admitted to committing a series of armed robberies.
Kwame Jowanza, 35, of Recht-Door-Zee, Parfait Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, appeared at the Leonora Magistrate’s Courts on Wednesday when Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul handed down the sentence. Jowanza admitted to armed robberies that occurred between November 26, 2021 and January 3, 2022 and was sentenced to six years and six months in jail.
