Corentyne housewives charged over chopping

Two Corentyne women were on Thursday placed on $25,000 bail each after they were charged with the unlawful wounding of a Port Mourant, Corentyne woman, who sustained a chop injury.

Vashanie Cyrel, also known as ‘Dede,’ 20, a housewife, and Malisa Edwin, also known as ‘Mello’, 26, also a housewife, both of Lot 119 Freeyard, Port Mourant, appeared before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh at the Whim Magistrate’s Court.

They were jointly charged with unlawful wounding committed on Amrita Singh. The wounding occurred on February 20, at Freeyard, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice.
