Linden resident Corwyn Arthur who is currently serving 15 years in jail, now awaits fresh sentencing after a jury convicted him yesterday afternoon for unrelated charges of raping a 16-year-old girl back in 2013.
Following hours of deliberations, the 12-member jury returned a majority verdict of 10 to 2, convicting Arthur of sexually penetrating the teen without her consent on December 17th, 2013 in the County of Demerara.
He was also found guilty by the jury in the same proportion, of assaulting the young lady on the said day, causing her actual bodily harm.
