The Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) female hockey outfit finished in eighth position in the 2022 Big Apple International Indoor Hockey Championship in Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA yesterday, after ending with a record of one win and four losses.
In the 7-8 placement encounter of the two day tournament, Philly Hockey Club (PHC) defeated GCC 1-0 on penalty strikes after regulation time ended 1-1. All three of GCC’s attempts to score from distance failed.
Prior to the shoot-out, Aliyah Gordon equalised for the Guyanese in the 22nd minute, after Rhiannon Holt had pushed PHC into the initial lead in the ninth minute.
