Customs Officer arrested after shooting horse-cart operators

A Customs Officer is now in police custody after he shot and injured two horse-cart operators at Kersaint Park, La Bonne Intention, East Coast Demerara, on Sunday afternoon.

The Guyana Police Force said the victims had gone to an empty lot opposite the officer’s home to allegedly cut grass for their horses, however, he claims that one of them entered his yard and he discharged his firearm in the air and in the direction of the men.

The two men, ages 36 and 30, have been admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
