City Council still awaiting Local Gov’t Commission letters to confirm new hires

The Mayor and City Council has called on the Local Government Commission (LGC) to dispatch letters of appointment for those persons that it selected to fill various positions at City Hall.

At a statutory meeting held at the Kitty Market last Monday, the councilors and Deputy Mayor Alfred Mentore, who chaired the meeting in absence of Mayor Ubraj Narine, noted that the council was still awaiting letters of appointment that were supposed to be sent by the LGC.

Mentore, in his remarks, stated that although a letter of request was sent to the LGC, no response had been received.
