Despite failing to progress to the gold medal bout at the ongoing American Boxing Confederation (AMBC) Elite Championships in Ecuador, prized middleweight, Desmond Amsterdam was applauded for his historic bronze medal feat.
“I applaud the effort which adds to the signal that Boxing is back with a bang,” said President of the Guyana Boxing Association, Steve Ninvalle, who watched the fight last night in the presence of His Excellency, Dr. Irfaan Ali.
“We welcome the bronze medal and are confident that more Regional and international glory is around the corner,” Ninvalle added.
