Two persons are currently in police custody in connection with the murder of driver Pitamber Sharma, who was allegedly strangled last week at his workplace in Mazaruni River, Region Seven.
This was confirmed by Police Commander Dion Moore, who told Sunday Stabroek that the suspects were arrested on Friday. They remained in police custody up to yesterday afternoon.
The lifeless body of Sharma, 69, of La Grange, West Bank Demerara (WBD) was found floating in the Mazaruni River last Thursday morning. Sharma was employed with BK Quarries, Mazaruni River.
