In observance of International Trans-gender Day of Visibility, British High Commissioner, Jane Miller on Thursday hosted a celebration of Guyana’s LGBTQ+ community in partnership with the Guyana Trans United as they celebrated their 10th anniversary of leadership, advocacy, pride and strength.
A statement on Miller’s Facebook page said that the UK is committed to championing LGBTQ rights globally. This year the UK will be hosting the UK Government’s first ever global LGBTQ+ conference ‘Safe to be Me’ – coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of the first official London Pride march.
