Hundreds at occupational health and safety walk

The Occupational Safety and Health Department of the Ministry of Labour’s Annual Health Walk saw more than five hundred persons, representing the Labour Ministry, Guyana Power and Light (GPL), Exxon Guyana, Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, the National Insurance Scheme (NIS), the Centre for Local Business Development, Professional Guard Services, Bounty Farm Limited, N&S Algoo Inc, License Customs Brokers, Teleperformance, University of Guyana, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation, Ministry of Health, Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI), GTT, Eureka Laboratory and the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, among other agencies. The walk was held yesterday morning in observance of OSH Month, raising awareness for safety and Health in the workplace, throughout Guyana. The walk concluded at the Square of the Revolution, where the gathering was engaged by Minister Joseph Hamilton who thanked them for their participation.
