The Bartica Easter Regatta returns this year and kicking off the series of events is Gospel Fest promoted by Chosen Generation Band, on Monday night.
A press release issued by Head of the Regatta Committee, Regional Chairman Kenneth Williams reads, “This year, the regatta will be promoted under the theme: Bounce Back – as motivation to inspire our people to break free from the burdens of the pandemic.”
Speaking with The Scene, Williams noted that usually regatta activities take about eight months to plan. He said there were no plans to host the regatta this year, but when President Irfaan Ali announced that Covid protocols were being relaxed, the committee wasted no time in putting together a schedule.
