Hockey team pipped 0-1 by Bermuda

Guyana’s national female hockey team  suffered its second loss in the 2022 Central American & Caribbean (CAC) Games Qualifiers, losing to the unbeaten host nation Bermuda 0-1 yesterday in Hamilton, Bermuda.

The loss effectively extinguished any hopes of Guyana qualifying for the second round, after Mallory Towlson separated the two sides with a 60th minute conversion.

Racing onto a through pass that split the backline following a counterattack which emanated from her own penalty area, Towlson slotted the ball through the legs of the advancing goalkeeper into the lower right corner from the top of the box.
