Pomeroon man sentenced to 18 months for beating wife

Rawl DaCosta of Lower Pomeroon River, Region Two was yesterday sentenced to 18 months imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to an unlawful wounding charge.

 DaCosta made his appearance virtually before Magistrate Allan Wilson. 

He had pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him and was remanded until May 15.  However, upon hearing that he would be remanded he opted to change his plea to guilty.
