Man wanted for killing foster son arrested

Days after he allegedly killed his foster son, Nigel Abraham was arrested by the police in Region One.

Director of the Guyana Police Force’s Corporate Communications Unit, Mark Ramotar yesterday said that the diligent work by ranks of Region One, members of the Community Policing Group and residents led to the arrest of Abraham.

He is currently in custody at the Mabaruma Police Station.

Abraham allegedly murdered Daniel Wilson on Monday.

One of Wilson’s cousins, Ron Moonsammy, who was also allegedly stabbed by Abraham, was critically injured.

Police had said that the attacks stemmed from an argument among the trio who were drinking alcohol at Black Water, North West District (NWD) on Sunday night.

An argument erupted and Abraham alleged stabbed Wilson with a knife.

Moonsammy, who then intervened in a bid to save Wilson, came under attack when the suspect reportedly turned on him with the knife, stabbing him in the chest.

Moonsammy was rushed to the Mabaruma Public Hospital and was later medevaced to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
