An unbeaten century from national wicketkeeper/batsman, Tevin Imlach propelled Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) to a 154-run lead over Guyana National Industrial Cooperation (GNIC) on the first day of the Georgetown Cricket Association/GISE/Star Party Rental/Trophy Stall first-division, two-day tournament yesterday.

The reigning champions DCC, playing at home closed the day on 206 for three after 39 overs, in response to GNIC’s first innings total of 52 for nine in 21 overs.

Imlach smashed four sixes and 11 fours during his unbeaten 102 from 109 balls. His innings showed his maturity as he waited for the loose deliveries to put away, favouring the off-side and straight areas.
