Cops searching for bandits after North Road stick up

Police are on the hunt for two bandits who robbed three persons of over $600,000 in cash and valuables after their bus broke down on North Road, Georgetown.

The attack occurred around 21.00 hrs last Saturday in the vicinity of the Guyana Football Club Ground.

At the time, the victims, Nicholas Samaroo, 31, a driver of East Street, Georgetown; Mahindra Ramcobeer, 39, a fisherman of Section ‘N’ Cove and John, East Coast Demerara; and Cindy Persaud, 23, also of East Street, Georgetown were travelling in the route 50 bus driven by Samaroo.
