Prime suspects held over murder of Corentyne ex-convict

Detectives in Region Six have since arrested two prime suspects in connection with the murder of ex-convict, Akash Pechia, who was found with severe chop injuries about his body in an empty lot at Number 55 Village, Corentyne on Tuesday morning.

According to information received from a police source, based on footage of the attack, detectives were able to place the two suspects in custody who were hiding out in the Molsen Creek backlands on Tuesday evening.

However, as of yesterday afternoon, investigators were continuing the search for a third suspect. The source noted that while the two in custody have not fully confessed to the crime they have admitted to their involvement in the attack and identified the third person as the mastermind.
