Prime suspect remanded over murder of overseas-based man at Crabwood Creek

More than two months after the murder of Lakhan Chaterpaul, the overseas-based Guyanese in Crabwood Creek, Upper Corentyne, investigators have been able to arrest the prime suspect and place him before the court.

Leon Gonsalves also known as ‘Never Please’, a barber of Crabwood Creek Corentyne, on Tuesday appeared at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Alex Moore where he was charged with murdering Chaterpaul, also known as “Rickash”, 21, on March 9.

Gonsalves was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was remanded to prison. He will return to court on May 31, for report.
