Several communities in Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice) have been severely affected by flooding after recent rainfall and the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) said it is ready to help the region and others parts of the country.

The CDC in a statement on Thursday night said that it is prepared to lend support to communities in Kwakwani and others parts of the region which are under water due to the heavy rainfall and the swollen river.

Lamp Island and Ladernsville in Aroraima were identified as the communities that are severely affected by the flooding in the region.
