West Coast Berbice fire leaves family homeless, one injured

A Number 41 Village, West Coast Berbice family lost their home on Friday to a fire, which also left one person nursing burn injuries. 

According to information gathered by this newspaper, the fire gutted the home of Reggie Hookumchand, 56, at Lot 14 Number 41 Village, around 16:50 hrs on Friday.

Hookumchand resided in the one-storey structure with his son, Leon Omar, 29, his daughter-in-law, Jenita Boodhoo, 26, and their two children, ages six and one.
