The Guyana Council of Organisations for Persons with Disabilities (GCOPD) has commended President Irfaan Ali and the government for the recently announced $100,000 cash grant for each child with a disability.
In a press release issued on Monday, the GCOPD also welcomed Ali’s pledge to address the longstanding difficulties children and adults encounter in trying to access public assistance from the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security.
On the latter announcement, the GCOPD stated that as a national organisation it has been asking for years for the challenges of accessing the monthly public assistance to be addressed.
