Registration for children’s disability grant starts Wednesday

The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security through the National Commission on Disability (NCD) will begin registration for the recently announced one-off $100,000 cash grant for every child living with a disability on Wednesday at selected locations countrywide.

In a statement issued on Saturday the ministry explained that the one-off grant is only for children younger than 18 years living with disabilities and will require them to be registered with the NCD.  Persons already registered with NCD are not required to apply.

The statement noted that parents or guardians will be required to provide a form of photo identification along with a form of identification for the child. Birth certificates will be accepted in the absence of a photo identification of the child.
