Ex-supervisor charged with stealing over $7M from pawn shop

Claude Stewart, a former supervisor at Lenders Jewellery and Pawn Shop, was charged on Friday with stealing over $7 million from the business.

Stewart, 39, of Castello Housing Scheme, West La Penitence, was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in a city court, where the charge was read to him.

The charge alleged that Stewart, between November 20, 2020 and May 24, 2022, at Bourda, and while being employed as a supervisor at the pawn shop, stole $7.1 million, which was the property of Collin Barker.
