Abrams lowers national 100m record, punches ticket to World’s

Olympian, Jasmine Abrams closed off her June activities in fine style on Saturday by lowering the national 100m record at Trinidad and Tobago’s National Open Championships staged at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port-of-Spain.

The USA-born sprinter, clocked 11.07s in a second place finish to Ivory Coast’s Murielle Ahoure-Demps (10.95s) to set the new record.

Before that, the previous record of 11.14s was held by Brenessa Thompson who had set that time back in 2016 here at the National Track and Field Centre.
