Police ranks from Regional Division #5 on Saturday discovered over 115 pounds of cannabis at a house on the left bank of the Abary River and a young labourer who claimed to be the caretaker of the property was arrested as a result.

In a press release, the Guyana Police Force said the discovery was made at about 12:00 hrs and it was based on information received.

The police ranks, acting on the information received, went to an area on the left bank of the Abary River, about 40 miles in from the public road, where they found a two-storey wooden and concrete house on a plot of land. The ranks also met a 23-year-old labourer from Tempie Village, West Coast Berbice.
