Guyanese referees Colin Abel and Lenval Peart were praised by FIFA and UEFA Futsal Instructors for their showing at the inaugural Caribbean Games in Guadeloupe, which culminated in their eventual selection as part of the match official team for the tournament’s final.
This was confirmed by an official release from the Guyana Football Federation (GFF). According to the correspondence, the duo were praised by FIFA instructor Wilson Da Costa, who stated, “In a nutshell, both referees were exceptional, on and off the field of play. They officiated the finals – and that speaks volumes. I want to congratulate the football association for keeping these officials interested in the game.”
