East Ruimveldt man charged with armed robbery

An East Ruimveldt man has been remanded to prison after he was charged with armed robbery.

Ackeem Boyce, 22, of Lot 448 East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme was on Wednesday arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan who read the charge to him.

The charge against the man states that on June 13, 2022, at Charles Street, Charlestown, Georgetown, whilst being in the company of others and armed with a dangerous weapon, that is to say a gun, he robbed Roston Barker of one motorcycle valued at $211,000, a SA Samsung cellular phone valued $38,000 and a wallet worth $1,500and which contained at the time $4,200 in cash.
