Direct flight between Guyana, Cuba inaugurated

There is now a direct flight between Guyana and Cuba. Fly All Ways Airlines will operate the route once weekly with a 180-seater aircraft. A release from the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce said that the airline had its inaugural flight on Saturday. On board were Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Elisabeth Harper, Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority, Kamrul Baksh, Chairman of the Transport Advisory Board, Rosalinda Rasul and senior officials of the airline. A formal ceremony was held at the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana. At the ceremony, Guyana’s Ambassador to Cuba, Halim Majeed and several high-level Cuban and regional officials were present and praised the initiative.
