Accused ganja trafficker caught again with drug – court hears

Warren Broomes

Warren Broomes, who was charged last year with possession of cannabis for trafficking, was back before a court on Friday faced with the charge once again.

Broomes appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly in a Georgetown court, where he denied the allegation that was brought against him.

The charge alleged that on July 27, 2022, at Arapaima Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession 60 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

The prosecutor objected to bail and Broomes was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned until August 19, 2022.

In October of 2021, Broomes was intercepted by the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) and was found with 44.5 grammes of cannabis. He was subsequently released on $100,000 bail for that matter.
